Meghan Flaherty: Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Meghan was in a motorcycle accident on Sunday evening. She was picked up by an ambulance and hurried to the hospital. After many tests, it was determined that she had a broken shoulder, wrist, two broken ribs on the left, and eight ribs on the right were broken in multiple places. Her lungs were impacted by the accident, too. Meghan had a seven-hour surgery on Monday to repair her shoulder and wrist with plates and pins, and they cleaned out the gravel from her knee and stitched it up. On Tuesday morning, the x-rays showed that she had developed pneumonia. The doctor placed a chest tube. They also connected her to a BiPAP machine because she is struggling to breathe. Meghan is in the ICU. We have no indication that she will be out anytime soon. Managing the excruciating pain has been a challenge.
Meghan is fighting hard through the pain and exhaustion, and she is still managing to make everyone laugh. We have had many people reach out to see how they can help, and this is the best way we can. Meghan will be out of work for a while as she has a long road to recovery. Her medical bills will continue to grow. We appreciate the love and support of our friends and family as we pray for her recovery.
