To all my family member, friends, ex-players, coaches I've coached with and against and those who care about youth development and life fitness:
This is Coach Tommie Liggins. For as long as I can remember, the Lord has placed on mine and my late brother David's hearts who passed away January 9, 2016 and who I still miss everyday and who this project will be dedicated to. I have a desire to help young people succeed on the athletic field and on the field of life. I truly believe that the Lord has shown me a way. I have been in the coaching profession for 36 years before retiring in 2016. Twenty-seven years were spent in collegiate football ( 1season at the University of Arizona ), 4 years coaching high school football and track, and 7 years coaching middle school basketball.
In July of this year, I moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, from Illinois. My mission is to build a 800,000 sq. ft. one-stop mega sports facility here in the Piedmont, Triad area of North Carolina. This mega sports facility will contain basketball courts, a football field, and various other sports. It will also include a fitness center that will be second to none, all under one roof. The facility will create an unmatched sporting atmosphere that will add to the enjoyment of everyone in the community. Dedicated to the area and my brother David, the facility will strive to support and sponsor surrounding community events as well as hosting them whenever possible. My hope is that through the use of this facility, members’ and visitors’ enjoyment and appreciation for sports and fitness will be enhanced.
My fund raising goal is $250,000 for the first phase.
There is no set amount that you have to donate. Whatever you want to give will be greatly appreciated.
By accomplishing this goal, the money will be used towards the architectural engineering designs, licensing and the everyday running of the business.
At the completion of this mega facility, we will be able to offer job opportunities with both part-time and full-time positions.
All donors names will be placed on a mural that will be visible for all to see, when they enter the facility.
I hope and pray that you will consider being a part of making this dream a reality.
