Help Megan Dalton Fight Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

On March 16, 2025, 22-year-old Megan sat in the small ER Room 11 as the nurse practitioner entered with the CT scan report. Before she even spoke, her face revealed it all—the three unimaginable words, “You have cancer.” In overwhelming shock, Megan struggled to process the news, barely able to cry due to the swollen lymph nodes in her neck. Room 11 forever will be etched in the Dalton Family’s memory as a place of heartbreak, disbelief, and unimaginable pain not only for Megan, but for the entire family. However, it is also the room where God wrapped His loving arms around Megan and began this new journey with her. The following days were a whirlwind of tests including biopsies, CT scans, PET scans, and bloodwork that confirmed the diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Nodular Sclerosis type.

About Megan

Prior to her diagnosis, Megan lived independently, thriving in her career as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) working with adults with exceptional needs. Her compassion, joy, and light spirit made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She is truly one of the kindest, most loving souls.

Chemotherapy week is the very hard on Meg, she is exhausted and the side effects seem to come sooner with every treatment and last longer. Meg unable to drive during chemotherapy treatment weeks but during her off weeks the Daltons try to get Meg out and do activities that bring her Joy. Meg no longer can work or maintain her previous pace of life. She has had to move back into her childhood home to focus full time on healing. Despite the challenges, she is incredibly grateful for the love and support surrounding her, especially from Team Dalton—her parents Chad and Steph and her four siblings Riley, Ana, Natalie, and Jackson who are by her side every step of the way. Meg is also soo thankful for her Grandma, Grandpa and her extended family who immediately were there to support her after she was diagnosed. In the midst of all these challenges, the Daltons experienced the sudden loss of Megan’s beloved 96-year-old PaPa.

Why We Need Your Help

The cost of cancer treatment is overwhelming. Megan will be undergoing chemotherapy twice a month for six months. Despite insurance and the many financial aid efforts that have been explored, the out-of-pocket expenses are still astronomical and continue to rise, making the bills difficult to manage. This cancer fight will cost a minimum of $16,000 not including an additional six months worth of additional tests, prescriptions and scans.
