Megan could really use your help right now. As many of you know, she has had a rough go over the past few years and continues to fight through cancer... AGAIN. For those of you who don't know, here is her story...
Megan was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at the age of 3 months old. After multiple recurrences, chemo, radiation, and cryotherapy, she unfortunately lost her RIGHT eye. She remained cancer free and managed to successfully become an RN! Then in 2016, a simple nose bleed led to the diagnosis of osteosarcoma. She underwent a 13-hour surgery and chemo at that point as well. Again told she was cancer-free, Megan went on to marry her husband, Taylor in August 2018. Just 4 months later, she was again told that the cancer (osteosarcoma) had returned. This time, she only needed surgery, but was out of work for months. Skipping ahead to current day. For the past few months, Megan has been experiencing a lot of issues with her LEFT eye. A scan in February revealed a tumor behind her eye, which also required surgery. In early May, after continued struggles with her LEFT eye, she was scheduled for another surgery which was done on May 30th. In the time that passed since early May and the scheduled surgery on her LEFT eye, they found ANOTHER tumor behind her RIGHT orbital cavity. Unfortunately, this tumor is growing very rapidly and they believe it may be a recurrence of her osteosarcoma. The surgery for this tumor is scheduled for June 4th. This is expected to be a very long, risky surgery and at least a week-long admission to the hospital.
Please join me in praying for Megan, Taylor, and the rest of her family. All of her friends and family are hurting along with her, which makes her even more anxious. Megan is very appreciative of all of the cards, calls, and texts she has received as she has difficulty keeping her mind off of everything. Although Megan is extremely humble and doesn't like to be on the receiving end of help... she really needs us now. She is AGAIN out of work for at least 3 months again and has exhausted all but approximately 3 weeks worth of pay. At this rate, Megan will exhaust her incoming paychecks before June is over. This leaves the sole financial burden of a two-income household on Taylor. Please consider donating ANY amount... small or large.
