Dear Friends,

Anne-Marie Arrow and I are launching this GoFundMe for our mutual friend, and former classmate to many, Lance Macdonald. Like so many who have been impacted by difficult times the past several years, Lance has experienced financial & work challenges, compounded recently by health issues. He’s in a very untenable, difficult situation and needs our help.

 

Some of you may know that Lance was recently hospitalized after experiencing seizures. While he is still feeling the residual effects, thankfully, all test results were negative. However, he now has additional medical expenses. Because of the seizures, he’s no longer able to drive, so work/interviews are also challenging (Under California law, driver’s licenses are automatically suspended for 6 months for anyone who experiences seizures.)

 

His immediate need is for housing. Followed by medical expenses. Our goal is to raise enough funds to cover rent/housing costs for 3-6 months, and pay his outstanding medical bills. (Lance is also filing for SS disability, but approval is not guaranteed and can take several months.)

 

I’ve known Lance for over 20 years and have witnessed his strong commitment to service. He’s willingly served in countless ways and has supported many of us through his years of volunteer service with the University of Santa Monica, Insight and the Freedom to Choose Project.   Lance has no living family members; so we're asking his loving, open-hearted spiritual family of 25+ years for support.

We know times are financially tough for many people these days. Lance will deeply appreciate any amount you’re able to give.
