Hi all, Sally here writing to introduce you to the Lutsyk family: Andrei, Anastasia, and their children David, Sofia, and Adele (with another on the way :-)).
Andrei is the cousin of my wonderful neighbor Natalie, a naturalized US citizen from Russia. As a child, her mother and father relocated to the US. She is now a married mother of two wonderful boys whom I adore :-)
Andrei, his wife and their children fled the Russian/Ukrainian border a couple of months ago due to Putin's war. Anastasia is originally from Ukraine, and they left all their family and belongings behind, escaping with only a couple of suitcases. With assistance from a U.S. church organization, they are beginning their life anew in Michigan.
Through their church, they have found lodging and are trying to make it a home. They are learning English as a second language (ESL) and have the children enrolled in school. They are ever hopeful for a bright future, but they will endure many trials as they struggle to adjust to America, given the language barrier, while trying to find employment.
Through this fundraiser, I hope you will join me in helping this family adapt by reducing some of the burdens they are currently facing. They need everything from dishes to diapers, as Anastasia is due to give birth to their fourth child in January.
With Natalie's help, Anastasia has created a (very humble) list of needs via their local Walmart. The link can be found here.
Additionally, and unbeknownst to them, I am asking you to give whatever you can financially to aid them, especially with the holidays quickly approaching.
You are all very dear to me, and I greatly appreciate your help. God bless. Sally
