Meet the Jennings

Hi, my name is Tiffany. God put this amazing couple in my life when I was in need of direction. I truly do not know where I would be if He hadn't. But this isn't about me, so...

Jamie and Ryan are one of the most loving, giving  and selfless couple I have ever met. They give to charity, serve at church, teach small groups, dog sit, rush people to the ER and are always there when people need help. It is their turn to receive some help.

In November 1996, Jamie went in for a cyst removal on her right elbow. It turned out to be a 16 oz. tumor. Pathologist determined it was Myxofibrosarcoma, a very rare sarcoma cancer that affects soft tissue, muscle and bone.  And so it began!

Jamie has underwent surgery after surgery ever since. She had several joint replacements in her right elbow,  left lung lobectomy due to cancer metastasizing.  She had DCIS breast cancer, non-related to the sarcoma cancer. In 2017, she had several revision surgeries. In 2018, she had ulna and allograft surgery, along with hip bone marrow transplant to assist with ulna and allograft fusion. Her body rejected allograft elbow replacement causing MRSA staph infection. She had incision and drainage surgery, one right after the other until the doctors at Oschner in NOLA could not longer do anything to help her. They referred her to a limb salvage specialist in Dallas, TX. This was in August 2018.

The specialist  found the source of infection with was the allograft bone replacement. He removed it and put in cement spacers treated with antibiotics and order a prosthetic to be made which would replace the ulna, radius and humerus bone in Jamie's right arm that the cancer had attacked.

Jamie's infection cleared up but just before the prosthetic was complete the cement spacers sifted, causing severe dislocation.  On Dec 26, 2018 , the specialist put in the new custom made elbow and re-stretched the trapezoid to the humerus rod.  She did follow up appointments, home health and physical therapy. She did well and services were discontinued.

In June 2019, at the 6 month check up, it was discovered the joint was shifting from the ulna bone.  Four month later, the rod had shifted completely out and rested near the thumb.

Jamie needed another replacement surgery but Biomet was no longer making custom parts. The search for a new provider was on.

Dec 26, 2019 replacement surgery done. On May 6, 2020, another joint replacement surgery was done because previous prosthetic came out of ulna because she didn't have enough ulna bone left and she need a prosthetic made for the radius bone. Four weeks later at follow up appointment, Dr. said she could take her arm out of splint and start flexing and extending her arm. The prosthesis popped out of radius bone. Jamie went back to doctor and arm was put in cast to keep it stabilized.

Jamie is going to have one more surgery with again another custom made part the first week of August 2020.  She will not be able to use her right arm for hardly anything. If this doesn't work, she is looking at amputation.

Ryan has been by her side this whole time. Driving her to appointments, staying with her at hospital and working at his job. Jamie worked up until she couldn't anymore.

Now, Ryan has back issues and is scheduled for back surgery the first week of August also. He cannot be there for Jamie and he will be out of work during this time.

They have insurance and Jamie has Medicare but their deductibles are high and some of the doctors involve are out of network. They are in urgent need because their bills are adding up.

Jamie and Ryan would never ask for help because they are always the ones helping out others. So I am asking for them. Please, donate what you can. They are godly people and really need your help.

Let your servant hearts become serving hands and help provide comfort to this family. May God bless you and bless the Jennings. Thank you
