Hello.
My name is Madison Lawhon. Most people that know me, know that I love animals, even some more than humans.
This animal in particular, Ranger, I met almost two months ago and fell in love with him instantly. I hadn’t been looking for a dog, but after meeting him and smelling the puppy breath and feeling all of the unconditional love that he gave, it was impossible for me to say no.
Ranger is a chewer... of anything. Blankets, toys, bones, tables, rocks,... you name it, he’d probably chew it. I watch him when I am home, play with him, he’s my world, but I work. So when I leave, I crate him - he can’t be trusted, he’s a puppy, he’ll get into anything. It was for his safety, really.
I came home to destroyed blankets, toys missing legs, water bowls without rubber bottoms, a disaster. He was doing fine, great even. My crazy, wonderful, beautiful, energetic pup hadn’t shown any signs that he wasn’t anything other than okay, happy.
He he started throwing up last night. For awhile, probably because I was sleeping and he didn’t want to be a bother, he stopped. He was my sleepy boy. I fed him breakfast and took him out to potty, everything was still normal. Then he couldn’t keep anything down...his breakfast, water, pumpkin, white rice. My dog, who would jump high and low for ANY type of human food, no longer had any interest. Something was wrong.
Ask pretty much any pet owner and they’ll tell you, Animal hospitals are expensive, especially on the weekend when all clinics are closed.
Ranger is currently being held overnight for an obstructed bowel at VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Center. They have been pushing fluids for about 12 hours and while the gas in his intestines has dissipated, it left a clearer picture of all the missing legs, pieces of blankets, and rocks that this pup has decided were a good thing to snack on. I received a call at 2:27 in the morning asking if I was okay with surgery. Of course, I would do anything to save him. There is no price on love, as my mom would say. She is right. I would do anything for him.
I am asking for help, to cover medical bills, future checkups, medications... maybe an indestructible bed.
Please help me save my little boy. Anything will help. And if you are unable to donate, please share.
Thank you.
