Meet Pauline & Carole (Carole needs our help)
Donation protected
Pauline, my sister, recently celebrated her 82nd birthday. Pauline has been profoundly deaf since the age of 2. She has successfully lived independently with the support of her service dog, Carole.
Carole is a black lab specifically trained to respond and assist Pauline in her activities of daily living.
Carole recently had a fall which we suspect ruptured her CCL (Cranial Cruciate Ligament). This is a very important ligament that stabilizes the stifle (knee) joint. When it ruptures it is excruciating and debilitating, and she is unable to support Pauline.
Because of this Carole requires a TPLO (Tibia Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). This surgery will help re-stabilize her knee and help her pain, and happy life helping Pauline. Carole is scheduled for July 15, 2024, for diagnostic imaging in preparation for surgery, with surgery to be scheduled shortly thereafter. Please stay tuned for updates.
The veterinarian has indicated that surgery and aftercare including rehabilitation will cost approximately $7000.00. I am asking for your help to pay for this necessary surgery. Every little bit counts! If you aren't able to help financially, please consider sharing this GoFundMe page to help spread the word.
