When Drake was first found, he was in heartbreaking condition—severely underweight, suffering from tick fever, and dealing with painful eye issues. His chances didn’t look promising. But with proper veterinary care, nourishment, and the dedication of staff and volunteers, Drake made an incredible recovery.

Sadly, one of his eyes could not be saved due to ongoing pressure and had to be removed. Despite this, Drake hasn’t let anything slow him down.

He's a happy, energetic boy full of life. Drake loves attention and brings enthusiasm to everything he does. He’s friendly with other dogs and does well with those his size or smaller.

Now safe in Canada, Drake has been assessed by our veterinary team and is on his way to getting the care he urgently needs.

During his exam, it was discovered that Drake is suffering from severe dental disease, including significant gum recession and exposed tooth roots. This condition is not only painful but has likely been affecting him for quite some time—impacting his comfort, appetite, and overall quality of life.

Despite everything, Drake remains gentle and resilient.

He is now scheduled for a comprehensive dental procedure, where our veterinary team will address the damage, remove any unsalvageable teeth, and ensure his mouth is healthy and pain-free moving forward.
