We never imagined we would be writing something like this.

A little while ago, we met a tiny puppy who completely stole our hearts.

Her name is Bambi.

We called her that after the first time we took her out for a walk. She bounced through grass taller than she was like a tiny baby deer, ears flapping, legs everywhere, completely fearless. Even now, with everything she's facing, she still charges through life like nothing can stop her. If you met her, you'd never believe there was anything wrong.

When Bambi was first born, she was found to have a heart murmur. Everyone hoped and believed it would disappear as she grew, as many puppy murmurs do.

Sadly, after further scans and investigations, that wasn't the case.

Bambi has since been diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and now needs life-saving heart surgery.

Without treatment, her future is uncertain.

Bambi doesn't know any of this, of course.

She doesn't know her heart is different. She doesn't know there are scans, specialist appointments and difficult decisions being made on her behalf. She doesn't know that a team of people are desperately trying to find a way to give her the future she deserves.

She just knows that life is exciting.

She knows how to bounce through long grass, chase leaves, demand cuddles, make friends and steal hearts.

The surgery needed to save Bambi's life will cost approximately £5,000. Because her condition was present from birth, it is classed as a pre-existing condition, meaning insurance won't cover any of the costs.

Through scrimping and saving, alongside the incredible generosity of those who love her, we have managed to secure a huge portion of the funds needed for her treatment.

But despite all of that, there is still around £1,800 left to find before she can get the surgery she needs.

Asking for help is incredibly uncomfortable and not something that comes naturally. We have gone back and forth about whether to make this page at all. But when the alternative is not giving Bambi every possible chance, there really isn't a choice.

She deserves muddy paws. She deserves zoomies. She deserves adventures, stolen socks, sofa cuddles and growing old surrounded by people who love her.

Most of all, she deserves the chance to live the long, happy life that every puppy should have.

So this is us swallowing our pride and asking for help on behalf of a little puppy who can't ask for it herself.
