This is my son Daniel Maldonado he’s 26 years old and is a father to my 7 year old granddaughter Ivy. On February 16th my son was having severe headaches that wouldn’t go away. He went to the emergency room at the Newton Iowa hospital were he was told he had a tumor in his head. He was then rushed to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines Iowa and the tumor was removed. Unfortunately for him it was a very aggressive cancer called Medulloblastoma. It is very rare and normally found in children. His proton radiation treatment is not offered in Iowa and we will need to travel from Iowa to Rochester Minnesota for his treatments. Treatments will be approximately 6 weeks long. We are in desperate need of financial assistance towards transportation, housing, and medical expenses due to our loss of employment because of the cancer. I will be a permanent caregiver for him.
