Lily is a 17 year old Birman, who like so many cats needs meds to manage her renal disease. She's gorgeous, loving, smart and gentle, a very mindful loving Buddhist temple cat who has been a wonderful part of our family for many years without ever asking for anything in return. Now she needs help in the form of meds, & I want to be able to give them to her. In early August we took her to the wonderful Vet Emergency Clinic on Davenport Rd. where I was told she was in quite dire straights: blind, blood pressure @200 - a complete surprise to me. She was prescribed subcutaneous fluids, hypertension meds, an appetite stimulant and anti-nausea meds. all of which she has responded to exceedingly well. Now 7 and a half months later, she is alert, affectionate, eating and drinking, maintaining weight, and grooming herself . She is also not blind.

In fact she has responded so well she is not only eating and drinking, she has additionally acquired a love for Greenies & a new fondness for small amounts of probiotic yogurt, and eggs, a cat who refused to eat anything but dry food. We are so delighted.

The price of monthly meds: $245 (subcutaneous fluid, hypertension, anti-nausea and appetite stimulant) doesn't include lab costs, which she definitely needs. I haven't been able to take her for a doctor visit or lab work which I estimate to be around $700.

Want to make the remainder of her life comfortable and for her to feel loved and safe with her loved ones when we have to say good bye.

Until now I had never had the experience of caring for anything but a healthy pet but I am so glad to be caring for Lily now.:))
