Medley Medical Campaign

My name is Amaris Medley, my parents Leandra and Andrew Medley are the strongest people I know. In the early morning of April 27th, my dad required emergency assistance from a seizure, and was then placed in Neuro ICU due to a small tear that caused cerebral brain hemorrhaging and swelling.

Immediately, I got on a flight from Dallas, preparing myself for the worst while overwhelmed with fear. Just as well, family from all over hastily made their way into El Paso.

Within his first week in ICU, he underwent procedures and challenges in both coherence and cohesion as a result of the extensive brain trauma; however, little improvements everyday meant the world to us, and continue to do so as he rehabilitates. Even with the amount of medications he was given to control swelling, hemorrhaging, migraines, blood pressure, etc., combined with short-term memory loss, he was still himself, delivering classic Andy humor when he could, the person we all know, love, and care for.

The purpose for this GoFund Me is to aid in financial relief for my parents, as my dad won't be able to work for a great amount of time in his recovery, as medical and living expenses make themselves known, and my mom continues to be the rock and aid for both him and this family, enduring the stress while catering to his rehabilitation.

My family and I are endlessly grateful for the amount of support, love, prayers, and thoughtful acts of kindness from numerous people. My mom, brother and I deeply appreciate and acknowledge everyone who's made contact throughout this unfortunate time.

As my dad begins his rehabilitation, as of May 12, he is showing signs of healing and improvement, and can't wait to be home with family within the next two weeks.
