Medivac Jet & Houston Stay for Heart Surgery
Donation protected
I have a very rare cancer called intimal sarcoma of the heart. It was diagnosed in Oct 2019, had open-heart surgery to remove it. It grew back one month later. I've been on several rounds of chemo and most recently on a phase I immunotherapy trial at NIH/National Cancer Center. The trial failed and gave me a condition called myocarditis, the swelling of the heart muscle. They also found a blood clot on my tumor that is now causing a life-threatening situation as my tumor has elongated from the left atrium wall through the mitral valve and pulsating into the left ventricle. This pulsating action is flaking off tumors and caused a stroke on Nov 6. Another stroke can happen now at any minute, so I'm quickly taking a roundtrip medivac plane to Houston for surgery. I leave shortly and surgery is on Nov 23.
Insurance won't pay for my flight or the apartment in Houston where I need to stay for recuperation. Many of you have asked how they can help. Spiritually, I've asked my friends to appeal to their better angels during this time and help America come together. If you wish to help us out with some of the costs involved with my AngelMedFlight, I've set up this Go Fund Me. I thank you deeply.
I pray that things will work out so Dr. Michael Reardon of Methodist Hospital will be able to perform his unique autotransplantation heart surgery successfully to give me the best shot at saving my life. I need to be around to see my daughters become adults keep this crusade going to cure this rare orphan disease.
I thank God for this mission and I will never give up. Hoorah! Peter
