Meditation Scholarship in Honor of Nicole
Tax deductible
Scholarship in honour of Nicole for women in recovery in financial need to learn the specific practice she practiced for over 20 years in a group setting. Nicole LOVED group meditations and hosting teachings at her home. This will bring maximum impact to those in need and will become part of her legacy.
Nicole advocated for our nonprofit, bringing meditation to low/lower income individuals as a group. What better way to honour her than create a fund so that groups of women can learn this practice? Nicole was a multi-decade meditator, and if you met her for even a brief conversation, she would tell you to learn to meditate.
She passed on September 10th, 2022, from Cancer. Throughout her journey, she could be found meditating in the chemo ward (we have plenty of pics she sent us), laughing and doing all she could to share positive experiences with others. She would be proud for us to call her a meditation "badass."
Paula (our Founder) had the privilege of being her teacher and taught her many advanced meditation techniques. She hosted meditation teachings at her home and always encouraged Paula to come up again and again so she could get those meditation vibes. The image above is from a video testimonial she filmed with her daughter over six years ago. Paula formally taught her daughter meditation and witnessed firsthand the shift in Consciousness when she hadn't meditated one morning and after she did. The change was remarkable. We look forward to hosting meditation teachings at her home in honour of her mum one day and carrying that torch.
The image from the video is still the highest testimonial video we have on our YouTube channel. Vedic Meditation Mama. Feel free to watch it;
Nicole was open about her sobriety of over 25 years and had a remarkable story from being on the streets of Stockton, California, to a yoga teacher (we loved her classes), a dedicated mother, a profound voice within recovery and holding one of the best laughs on the planet. Therefore we have created a scholarship for other women in recovery who do not have the means to pay for the Aware Meditation, four-session meditation course at no financial cost.
We have created a dollar amount that will allow ten eligible women who fit these guidelines to learn together. The meditation course is taught on a sliding scale so that each soul can make the same donation. Financial give does not equal spiritual give. The course regularly has a minimum donation of $500 and a maximum of $900 per person in a group setting which would equate to $5,000 - $9,000. When the minimum amount of $5,000 has been reached will honour up to 10 learning and create a special course in dedication to Nicole.
YOUR DONATION GOES DIRECTLY TO THE NON PROFIT NOT TO ANY INDIVIDUAL.
Donors will donate to and receive tax receipts from PPGF.
