Help Sabahko & Edona Hasiq

In 2021, my fiancé and I met a small family consisting of a middle-aged man named Sabahko Hasiq and his daughter Edona Medina Haqiq, who was 8 years old at the time. This happened by chance in our hometown of Diber in North Macedonia.

As we sat on the balcony, I looked down on the street and noticed Sabahko begging for money on the street, his daughter asleep in his arms. My inner gut instinct made me bring the daughter a blanket and listen to his story. Sabahko has been raising his daughter alone since she was little. He has repeatedly tried to flee abroad to give his daughter a better life, unfortunately without success. Because of a serious accident at work, Sabahko cannot find work in North Macedonia, but he tries very hard! They slept in a friend's car. The car had no windows, they were taped shut. With a small donation that evening we were able to pay Sabahko's rent for the next three months, but unfortunately we are not able to finance the small family on our own and are dependent on help to offer them a good life, be it that we can pay the rent, buy them clothes, provide food or Edona's school supplies. We may also be able to help find a new job for Sabahko. Every support counts!
