My name is Danielle Elliott. I am a graduate of the Immaculate Conception High School for girls (class of 2023) and The St. Hugh's High School for Girls 6th Form (class of 2025).
In July of 2023, I completed a Summer Programme at the John Hopkins University in Neuroscience and Human Behaviour. It was a successful journey that solidified my decision to pursue a path in neurology.
Earlier this year, I was accepted among thirty five international students that were chosen to study General Medicine at the Hellenic Republic University of Crete School of Medicine in Greece. The interactive 6 year program will bring me a step closer to my dream of becoming a Neurologist and give me a better scope of learning, considering the fact that modern medicine begun in Europe.
I started school at The University of Crete in on the 22nd of September and so far, I have been loving it. From Anatomy, to Public Health, to Chemistry and small lessons on the Greek Language, so far, my university experience has been amazing. The programme include courses in medical Physics, Biostatistics, Pathophysiology, and Molecular Medicine among others that I cannot wait to dive into. The classes have the right amount of challenge that push me to want to know more about the topics being taught. Even though the workload promises to get even more challenging, I am looking forward to what I will learn and the skills I will develop, as the journey to my dream of becoming a medical doctor continues.
I am extremely grateful to all of you who continue to support me on this new phase of my development, and I look forward to any contribution that will help to catapult me to my dream career. My financing for year one came through a mix of sources including a one-time scholarship award for academic excellence, your unwavering support, my family and friends and my beloved mother, who has been my chief advocate.
I am passionate about neurology and wish to eventually find a solution to Alzheimer's and Dementia, as well as other neurological disorders, affecting many persons, especially those close to us. I look forward to having my name etched among the top neurologist in the Caribbean and internationally.
As a child of a single parent household, your invaluable support will make it possible for me to stay on this path to greatness and towards making my dreams to become a reality. Your donation will complement my studentship which begins in year two and other financial aid, based on my academic performance in the course.
Thank you for your help.
Danielle Elliott
Your future neurologist
