Medications for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)
Donation protected
Our Dad, Gary Wallace, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) early this year. The disease robs you of your ability to walk, eat, talk, and breathe. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 2-5 years. This gofundme (in addition to other fundraising campaigns) has raised ~$45,000 for the purchase of life-preserving medicines! This month he has been accepted on medicare insurance which will help to cover the majority of the cost of two life-preserving medications (Redicava and Relyvrio). In fact, the annual cost for both prescriptions has been reduced from ~$300,000 to ~$40,000!
We are extremely grateful for the sacrifices and support friends and family have made to gift our dad a year's worth of medications. You have also provided him with a surge of hope for the future. We love and appreciate you!
If you would still like to participate, future funds will be used for the following: breathing machines, speaking machines, wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, house modifications, and more. Feel free to reach out to us (Gary's children) if you have any other questions. Thank you!
