My name is Alejandro Ibarra, I am 31 years old, and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When I was 15, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma (cancer). I underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and thank God, I beat it. I emigrated to the USA after going into remission, like everyone else, seeking the American dream. Throughout the years I've been in this situation, I never had any discomfort that made my body say something wasn't right, until a few months ago. I started having stomach problems: an empty feeling in my stomach, excessive urges to eat for no apparent reason, and bloating. I actually thought it was a side effect of a medication I was taking to treat anxiety. A few days passed, and the discomfort persisted even after I stopped taking the medication.
I returned to work on Monday, 11/3/2025. The symptoms were still present but somewhat less severe. On Wednesday, 11/5/2025, my symptoms worsened, and I had to go to the emergency room. They performed a CT scan, but unfortunately, the results weren't what I expected. The doctor told me the disease had returned, and I was sent to Abbott Northwestern Hospital, which specializes in oncology. I've been hospitalized since that same day. They've done tests and a biopsy, and the doctors say I'm starting chemotherapy. Unfortunately, I don't know how my body will react to the treatment, and I don't know when I'll be able to return to work. I hope it will be very soon. Fortunately, the hospital is looking for an organization that can help me pay for the entire treatment. There will be medications I'll have to pay for myself. I'm asking for your help. Any support you can offer means a lot to me. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my story, for your understanding, and for your support.
