Medical Tattoo Training
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
As many of you know, I recently moved to New York to pursue a career in tattooing after owning Copperhead Tattoo and Design in Fairfield, IA. I have been lucky after such a big move here to find great job opportunities and it's been really exciting and fulfilling!
I notice my favorite tattoos to do are those that have deep meaning to my clients. The natural progression of this experience these past few years has led me to realize I want to learn the medical side of tattoos. Doctors now need tattoo artists to to create realistic and 3D looking nipples for women with mastectomys, lips for cleft palates, pigment for vitiligo, eyebrows and eyelashes for chemotherapy patients, and many other related procedures.
I always feel honored to give someone an image on their body that is deeply important to them. I also feel responsible to help them feel comfortable and safe doing something that is often scary and painful, and so this progression is a perfect fit for me by combining the deep importance of empathy in this industry and my love for art.
I have taken a leap of faith and put down a deposit for a course in October that offers training in these areas, and upon completion I will be able to work in a hospital and be covered by insurance, but I need your help!
As you know, New York is an expensive city! It's been hard for me to save enough for the total cost of the training. If you would like to contribute in any small way to help me acheive this dream I would be so thankful! Donations $50 and above will also get you some great tattoo deals on my next trip to Fairfield.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
