Medically Oppressed

Hi, my name is Tina and I am reaching out for help for my husband's cousins Will and Jaimie King
Will is 44 years old and has a multitude of medical problems that have put his family in financial hardship. He has been battling Type 2 Diabetes for over 20 years which has led to gastric ailments resulting in more than five surgeries. About 9 years ago he was diagnosed with kidney disease and is now in the end-stage, and is required to have dialysis 3 times a week.

In February of 2018, he had a quadruple bypass and shortly afterwards developed Buerger's Disease, which is a rare disease of the arteries and veins in which the vessels become inflamed, swell and become blocked with blood clots which destroy the skin tissue leading to infections and gangrene.
Will has had 13 amputations so far, he has lost both legs below the knee, a partial arm, a partial hand, and has another amputation scheduled.
Will has recently started palliative care, which is a patient-centered program focusing on what is important to the patient and their family in an effort to focus on improving life and providing comfort, and may focus more on quality of life over quantity, depending on what the patient wants.

Will receives disability but it is very minimal and his wife Jaimie had to quit her two jobs in order to take care of him full time. They also have a teenaged daughter Sierra to take care of.

Being an amputee, it is important to have a way to maintain some sort of independence. Will is dependent on a small electric scooter that will fit throughout their house. Right now that scooter is broken and they are not sure of the costs to get it fixed. He does have a backup scooter but it will not fit through the doorway into their bedroom. He has to transfer himself to the floor and maneuver himself around, which is causing wounds on his knees which could lead to more infections. His back-up scooter is also too big to fit on the scooter lift they have on their car so he has to get medical transport for his doctor visits and is unable to accompany his family on any outings.
The expenses of going to doctor appointments, monthly hospital visits, medications, supplies, and being hospitalized out of town have become an immense struggle for the family.

Your donation would go to providing the basic living expenses such as paying the utility bill, buying groceries and toiletries, to covering the cost of traveling to and from doctor and hospital visits, covering out of pocket cost for medications and medical fees and paying to get his scooter fixed or purchase a new one so he can have some sort of independence to get around.
This is a proud family and wouldn't ask for help if they weren't struggling so much.

I want to thank you for taking the time to read this message and know that every penny will be greatly appreciated.
