Medically needed home improvements for Jean Diette

Hi, Patty and I (Amy) are the daughters of Jean and Mary Diette. Jean and Mary were a staple of the ambler community for over 40 years. Whether you know Jean from his 28 year career in the Navy, his years of working at Decks Hardware in Ambler, or at his favorite local bar, the Maple Glen Tavern, you know the type of guy he is.

Our parents had recently moved to Hatboro because the rowhome was just becoming too much for them. As many of you may be aware of, Jean was hospitalized back in September of 2023 due to Covid complications. Jean had previously battled stage 3 lung cancer and has been in remission for 5 plus years. Covid ravaged his lungs and it became medical necessary to intubate him and place him into a light medically induced coma. Eventually week by week, Jean fought to stay here. He had to relearn how to swallow, speak, stand and walk. Between two hospitals and one rehabilitation center for a total of 176 days he eventually came home on March 22, 2024!

Now Jean and his family need your help. To make the house safe for Jean we need to have concrete work done out front of the house as well as purchase a ramp to safely get him in and out of the house. We also need to replace the flooring on the first floor. Any leftover funds would go towards medical bills, medication’s, and any future medical needs. Jean has always been quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. So please, any amount will help to make Jean’s home, that he worked so hard to get back to, safe. Thank you!
