Aoife was a happy and well loved little angel. Her big brown eyes watched everyone and everything with a calmness and wisdom that we knew would develop into an intelligent, strong, and inquisitive nature. Everyone she came across - family, friends, strangers - stopped and commented on how beautiful she was, and we knew it was not only because of how adorable she was, but because her bright eyes, open smile, and outgoing personality drew people to her like a gravitational force.
In January, 8-month old Aoife had difficulty breathing and was admitted to the Children's Hospital. Her mom and dad, Andrea & Mike, were worried and attentive. Aoife was pronounced "healed" and sent home. Two days later, her breathing again got worse and she was readmitted to the hospital. The doctors and nurses worked hard to try and diagnose and treat the underlying problem causing Aoife's breathing challenges, but were coming up empty handed.
On February 13, smart, happy, strong, effervescent Aoife died - 1 day shy of her 9-month birthday.
Aoife was a beautiful little soul who absolutely captivated everyone around her. She was always so happy - even through the month long stay in the hospital - she always smiled and laughed. She learned how to pull herself up in the hospital crib and was so proud of herself - laughing and bouncing in celebration. Her mom, dad, and big brother Liam are reeling from the shock and the loss.
Losing Aoife has been such a tragedy for the whole family...we are asking for your help in supporting them through this difficult time. Anything that you can donate will help alleviate their monetary stress and allow them to focus on remembering and celebrating Aoife's short stay in our lives.
