In June 2001 Brent was diagnosed with a rare genetic cardiac issue with 2 complications  and had emergency open heart surgery.

Additional genetic cardiac issues were diagnosed in 2006.

He battles daily with worsening conditions which limit his ability to earn any additional income. Despite this he continues to do telecom work as best he can.  

Brent has been very generous with his time and resources. In the past he volunteered for 23 years for various non profit organizations in the Bay Area.

He's an animal rights supporter and has a cat at home. He always had a "green thumb" and enjoys working in his yard when he feels up to it.

He's been a supporter of the local food bank for years and continues to do so with food donations when he can.
