On Saturday I was in a major Accident. Think Man VS Food but replace that with Moped VS Box Truck. This was on the most dangerous road in Croatia I am told. Wish I was told that before the moped journey but oh well.
After the initial elation that Christine was not smashed up and could walk over to me I glanced down to assess my situation as I couldn't move much at the time. Which is when I caught a glimpse of my knee. In all honesty a true glimpse of the internal parts of my Knee. That is when I realized that this was not good at all. I couldn't move much of my body, hell I could hardly breathe. I felt the shock come on once the initial adrenaline wore off. Surprisingly shock is actually not as easy going as it sounds. Really it just feels like your body is saying " Alright here is deaths doorway you are about to get on the other side."
I was helicoptered from the Island we were on and delivered to Split's hospital. I have one "probably broken rib" and one fractured rib. The inner workings of my knee are once again inner thankfully. They were not very pretty to look at. Surprisingly no serious damage to my brain and no internal injuries either. More thankful for that.
Unfortunately after a year of traveling Christine and I have barely any financial means right now. So we are asking for help in covering the cost of the moped, the Helicopter flight, and hopefully an upgraded seat on the journey back.
If we go over the fundraising goal then everything else will get folded into our wedding fund which is an open invitation celebration and will have an open bar.
We love our friends and family and we cannot wait to be back sharing stories with you all.
