Medical vet bills for Dixie

Hi my name is Kendra and my father is Glenn. As most people in Parry Sound know our dog Dixie from walking the community trails, driving with her head out the window through town. She is my dads best-friend and we would like to get her the best care possible.

We are not the type of people to ask for money but due to an accident involving a snow mobile on Monday January 27th/25 it leaves us with not much choice.

My father and Dixie were on their daily adventure together walking out by Georgian bay when a snowmobile turned a blind corner with no time to stop. Dixie’s back leg was hit by the ski of the snow mobile causing a fracture at the joint. Dixie has been put in a splint until she goes to Sudbury for surgery with an Orthopaedic surgeon on Monday Feb 3rd.

We are asking for support with the vet bills as everyone knows they can be extremely costly . $1200 was spent on x-rays and anesthesia at our local vet today. The vet has quoted approx $5000 for surgery if not more. Any support would be appreciated to assist with Dixie’s road to recovery. She is still in good spirits as of right now but we all know what’s she’s like without her daily walk around Georgian Bay.
