This is something I never imagined I would have to ask for, and honestly, I have felt very uncomfortable asking for help. But I’ve reached the point where I don’t know what else to do.

For the last year, Tula has been dealing with an unknown medical issue. We have taken her to numerous veterinarians and specialists, trying to figure out what is happening and, more importantly, how to make her comfortable. Despite all the testing, appointments, medications, and treatments, we still haven’t been able to get this under control.

She is currently dealing with an infection that has proven resistant to almost every medication we have tried. She is uncomfortable, and still not getting better. I don’t want to get into graphic details but if you would like to know more, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. After everything we have already gone through, during our most recent appointment this past week and a CT scan, more bloodwork, and another culture, this is something that MAY require a surgery that could give her a chance to finally have relief. Before that is even a consideration, they must treat the infection she has been dealing with for months…and those medications are expensive (They are injectable, and she would need that three to four times a day)

At this point, we have spent nearly $16,000 on her medical care. We have continued to pay for whatever we could because she is a part of our family and we would do anything we can to help her. But I have reached the point where I simply don’t have the funds to keep covering potentially expensive treatment on my own.

I also want to be transparent about something that has made me hesitant to do this. Our family has a vacation coming up that was booked and paid for before all of these medical problems began. I know someone could look at that and wonder why we would ask for help while going on vacation. I completely understand that perspective, and that’s part of why I have been so uncomfortable asking for help. But cancelling a trip that was planned long before we knew what we would be facing now wouldn’t give us back the money we’ve already spent, and it doesn’t change the financial situation we’re in today.

I’m not asking anyone to donate who isn’t comfortable doing so. There is absolutely no expectation. Even sharing this would mean more to me than I can explain.

I just want to be able to say that I did everything I could for her.
