Shawny was brutally beaten by a group of NYPD officers while walking home from work. He was simply on his way home, not participating in the protests,  and yet the officers decided to chase him down and beat him with their batons.  Shawny had to immediately have his jaw wired and teeth reconstructed due to the damage from the attack.
