We took Jake to the vet for what we thought was a stomach ache. After many tests we were informed that he has a bleeding tumor on his spleen and needed immediate surgery. We took him to Buffalo Grove Speciality Vet where he had his spleen removed along with the tumor. Unfortunately more issues developed and he has been in ICU for the last 3 days. He had a blood transfusion because he lost 2 liters of blood during surgery (which is 40% of his blood) Now his blood isn't clotting properly and he needs a plasma transfusion. We are getting him the care that he needs, however this has been extremely expensive and we need some help to continue to get him the treatments he needs to get him out of the woods. We do not want to lose our Bear! He is the best protector in the world and prevented someone from breaking into our home, saved our dog from being attacked by a coyote and prevented a fire from starting by unplugging a smoking filter in a pool. He has saved so many, now its time for him to be saved. We need him to pull through and believe that if we can continue to get him the medical treatment he requires that he can make a full recovery.
Jake is the most loving dog you will ever meet and gives anyone a kiss that calls him Beautiful. Whenever anyone is upset he cuddles with them and doesn't leave their side until they are ok. We call him our therapy Bear.
We try to never ask for help and figure things out on our own, but we are asking for Jake. He deserves a great life.
