I am Uwe Fechner, wind energy researcher in Delft, NL. (For German, see below.)

We want to ask for support for the medical treatment of Michelle, a 8-year-old girl from Nairobi, Kenya.

She lost her brother during the demonstrations in Nairobi in 2024, and she lost her parents in 2025, mainly due to a lack of medical support and poverty.

She suffered a bad attack by a street gang in in February 2026 and had recovered well end of March. But she was not released from hospital because we could pay only 80% of the bill.

Now, she has a nervous breakdown because she has been in the hospital too long and because her guardian went missing (she reappeared, but still cannot visit Michelle).

She needs urgent treatment:

- Medication 29,754 KES (~ 200 EUR)

- Bed charges 77,554 KES (~ 510 EUR)

In total: about 710 EUR

If she is not discharged, it will continue to accumulate. She might need more medication after the elapse of this week. The doctors are closely monitoring her.

On the 20th of April, she had a hospital accumulated balance of 339,400 KES (~2245 EUR) from her previous treatments. We will have to pay at least have of it to get her discharged from hospital and back to school.

Wir bitten um Unterstützung für die medizinische Behandlung von Michelle, einem 8-jährigen Mädchen aus Nairobi, Kenia.

Sie verlor ihren Bruder während den Demonstrationen in Nairobi im Jahr 2024 und ihre Eltern im Jahr 2025, vor allem aufgrund mangelnder medizinischer Versorgung und Armut.

Im Februar 2026 wurde sie Opfer eines schweren Überfalls durch eine Straßenbande und hatte sich bis Ende März gut erholt. Sie wurde jedoch nicht aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen, da wir nur 80 % der Rechnung bezahlen konnten.

Nun leidet sie unter einem Nervenzusammenbruch, weil sie zu lange im Krankenhaus ist und weil ihre Erziehungsberechtigte verschwunden war (sie ist wieder aufgetaucht, kann Michelle aber immer noch nicht besuchen).

Sie benötigt dringend Behandlung:

- Medikamente 29.754 KES (~ 200 EUR)

- Bettkosten 77.554 KES (~ 510 EUR)

Insgesamt: ca. 710 EUR

Wenn sie nicht entlassen wird, werden sich die Kosten weiter summieren, da sie in einem Einzelzimmer liegt. Möglicherweise benötigt sie nach Ablauf dieser Woche weitere Medikamente. Die Ärzte beobachten ihren Zustand sehr genau.
