His given name is Max Plumage. The name he is known by to his people is Circling Eagle. He is enrolled Pikuni but has Nakoda, Aaniiih, Salish, and Pend d'Orielle tribes in his blood.

Max is 13 years old! He is an 8th grader and an avid March Marchness fan! With the help of his mom and a lot of post -its, Max picks his own bracket. He loves watching live sports and then cheering for the other team just to make things interesting. Max's family, not just here in Missoula, but across the miles believe that Max was put on this earth to show us how to live a good life. By showing love, kindness, compassion, and RESILIENCE!

Max and his family would like to humbly ask the community for help. In a few short weeks, Max, his mom and brother will be traveling to Seattle for back surgery. This is common with children like Max who have Phelan-McDermid, and the good thing is this type of surgery should be a one time thing. As with any type of surgery or travel, expenses can be stressful and any help is very much appreciated. Funds raised will go toward travel expenses including lodging, food, and transportation.

Sadly, this means Max will not be able to finish out his 8th grade year with his classmates, but it also means he will start high school standing much straighter and taller. So you may have to reach higher for those high fives!
