Medical Support for Pastors Allen and Grace Chang

Dear Friends,

This month, Pastor Allen Chang went to Taiwan to investigate the source of many months of fatigue. We knew things had gone awry when he began to miss Sundays, because he never misses Sundays. 

Our fears were confirmed when Pastor Allen’s heart rate suddenly dropped to 30bpm in Taiwan, and he had to be hospitalized. The doctors have since diagnosed Pastor Allen with stage 4 kidney disease. He had to undergo dialysis and have a pacemaker installed. 

Pastor Grace also had a thorough check-up in Taiwan, and what they discovered came as an even greater shock.

The doctors found a tumor. Scans have confirmed that she has stage 2-3 cancer.

We are grieved as a family and church. But we believe this medical intervention came at the right time to fight these diseases before they got too serious. Pastor Allen is stable, and his kidneys have not totally failed. Pastor Grace’s cancer has not spread to nearby organs. Both pastors are on the path to healing. 

But to come out on the other side, they will need to stay in Taiwan through the summer. They have a long journey ahead of them, especially pastor Grace.

She will need to go through chemotherapy first, and then the surgery itself.

As Taiwanese citizens, they have applied for insurance, but they cannot receive it until November, which means all the meaningful medical procedures that are needed to fight their illnesses will need to come out of their pocket.

The total cost is estimated to be $50,000 USD. Pastors Allen and Grace have given us their lives. We have all been recipients of their hospitality and love. It is a season now for them to rest and heal. We are creating this Go Fund Me as a way for us to give back and support them through one of their darkest trials. 這個月，張亞倫牧師和曉芳師母在家人的安排下回台灣進行身體檢查，希望能找出牧師數月以來持續疲勞的原因。過去，牧師從不缺席主日聚會，但是因為近期身體的緣故，他不得不時常在家休息。

當亞倫牧師在台灣時心跳突然降到每分鐘30下，並緊急住院，我們的擔憂得到了證實。醫生隨後診斷他患有第四期腎臟病。他必須馬上接受洗腎治療，並安裝了心律調節器。

曉芳師母同時也在台灣接受了詳細的健康檢查，結果帶來了更大的震撼。醫生發現了一顆腫瘤。影像掃描確認她罹患了第二到第三期的癌症。

聽到這些消息，我們深感震驚和難過，但我們相信這次的醫療介入是及時的，為他們在病情惡化前爭取到了治療的契機。目前亞倫牧師的病情穩定，腎功能尚未完全衰竭；而曉芳師母的癌症也尚未擴散到鄰近器官。他們都已踏上康復之路。

然而，要走過這段艱辛的旅程，他們必須在台灣度過整個夏天，特別是曉芳師母需要先接受化療和放療，然後進行手術。

作為台灣公民，他們已申請健保，但要到11月才會生效。這意味著，在此之前所有必要的醫療費用都必須自費負擔。

目前預估總費用為五萬美元。我們希望通過 GoFundMe 為他們籌集醫療費用，幫助他們度過人生至暗時刻。我們感謝牧師師母一生奉獻他們的生命，現在是他們休養與康復的時候，懇請大家用代禱托住他們，也非常感謝您的關心與支持。
