Help Teenage Attack Victim
Donation protected
This GoFundMe is for Jaden, my teen son who was assaulted in downtown Boise. He was hurt by a 41-year old unknown stranger, from out of town, visiting Boise who was downtown and attacked two boys in his drunken stupor which has sent him to prison.
The attack left Jaden permanently disfigured and needing lifelong repairs & surgeries. The man was sentenced to prison. I’m Jaden’s mother, an elementary school teacher here in the Treasure Valley, and there is no way for me to contend with the costs. The hope is that we can come together as a community and create a fund. All donations go directly into to a medical savings fund.
Jaden was attacked while he and his friends were at the Boise Public library, chatting, and getting ready to go home in their cars. A belligerent drunk man screaming at all passerby's was looking for a fight. When the boys looked in his direction, he took this as an invitation to attack. He ran full speed across the street with his fist already raised and punched 2 boys who never hit back. Jaden was hit hard enough that he was knocked down and his teeth, pallet bones, and jaw were traumatized and shattered.
He was left lying in the ground with blood, teeth, roots, and bone fragments laying next to him.
He has required bone grafts, and implants are down the road. He has a long road to recovery in order to heal well enough to eat solid food again. He will require replacements on a regular basis for the rest of his life. His treatment plan is written at $22,000 this year and $70,000 over his lifetime.
He’ll have to have his teeth replaced every 10 years on average, which will be another $6,000 each time.
The surgeon says this year will be a determiner for if he has more bone decay due to the force of the blow. I have it all in writing and it’s so lame. A 41 year old drunk man changed a teens life in a minute.
Luckily Jaden is resilient, a good person with a good heart, many friends, and persistence to continue living daily life.
The 41 year old man was sentenced to prison for aggravated assault leading to permanent disfigurement. The man had a plethora of prior felonies, including drugs, strangulation, theft, and attacks.
Now that this man has been sentenced, Jaden is moving on. He works. Sees his girlfriend who has stuck by him. Hangs out with his high school friends he graduated with in 2020, and hopes to move in with his girlfriend down the road!
Jaden just had his first surgery—a bone graft. On Jan 5th he gets bone scans to see if he’s ready for implants.
This fund is for costs associated with this assault so he can focus on living not what the man did, while waiting for the man to get out of prison and begin to pay restitution. He shouldn’t not have to pay for being attacked.
I appreciate your time in reading this. Your kindness is noticed. I can’t begin to express my thankfulness to everyone who donates.
Thank you so much,
