6/3/23 update:
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Lara, my wife; a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, friend, all of the best things she was we will carry with us forever. She joins her parents as well as my Grandmother who also passed away on June 3 but in 2009. Lara will be cremated as per her wishes and a small private gathering will be held at our home in the near future. Thank you all for being here for Milaena and I & for the family & friends who all love her so much. -Keith

6/1/23 update:
We were at the hospital yesterday trying to make sure Lara was comfortable when the medical staff walked in and said the infections in her body are antibiotic-resistant and they can’t do anything more to help her. She was moved to Agape Hospice last night. Originally they said she had a week but sitting here with my daughter and watching Lara I believe it could be a day or 2 days or maybe only a few hours. Please come visit right now if you would like to say goodbye. ❤️‍

5/22/23 update:
Lara was sent home today after being in the hospital for over 2 months. The list of medications and instructions are overwhelming to say the least, but she will be getting palliative care at home starting this week. Appointment scheduled with infectious disease doctor tomorrow 5/23/23 & if all goes well she will go back on Keytruda on 6/12 for her cancer therapy. Please continue to pray for our family and thank you all for your support.

Love,
Keith, Lara, & Milaena

4/25/23 2nd update:

Quick update … Lara has been moved to ICU where she had a big needle put in her right side to pull out fluid from around her lungs. She is doing better after that procedure. Dr Katsanis, her cancer doctor, said this is all coming from the blood infection and the edema is bad from her waist down. They also found 2 blood clots in her lungs. She is exhausted and trying to sleep. Thank you for all the support and prayers ❤️

4/25/23 update:

Keith here again…Woke up to a call from the hospital at 5:55am. Lara had a really bad night and rapid response was called. I woke Milaena up and we arrived at the hospital at 6:15 am. We sat with Lara & she had another Rapid Response. She was seeing bright lights and her BP dropped to 60/40. After the room was cleared of drs and nurses they told me they were gonna move her to the PCU for more observation. She might be septic but they are trying to figure it out. She has had a 3rd rapid response now at 11:29am and they were planning to move her to the ICU and put her on a ventilator. Please pray very hard for us especially for Lara to pull through. Our daughter Milaena is beside herself and I am just trying to keep it all together but it’s been so hard. Love to all and thanks for the prayers.

4/14/23 update:

Lara had a 4 hour surgery today, double thrombectomy with 20 blood clots removed, stent put in each leg, & vein reconstruction…this has been a tough few weeks. From what the doctors can see, all of the infections that she had are gone. Hopefully she can come home in a week. Thank you for all of the prayers and support. Much love from the Neddo family.

4/5/23 update:

This is Keith writing to give another update. Lara is still in the hospital and has an infection that they haven’t been able to get under control yet. She is not able to have surgery to remove the blood clot in her leg until her body is free of the infection. I will try to update everyone again soon. Please keep us in your prayers.

3/30/23 update:

This is Keith. Lara is still in the hospital. Her blood pressure is stable but she is having a lot of other problems. This has been heartbreaking for us. Lara needs to have surgery tomorrow 3/31/23 to take care of some blood clots that have developed in her leg again. She is still on antibiotics for whatever blood infection caused her problems a few days ago. I just want to thank everyone who has supported us with prayers and donated. It has helped so much and allowed me to pay for a lot of her medicine when insurance was not available. Cannot thank you all enough. Please pray for us all and let’s get Lara home safely very soon.

3/26/23 update:

Keith asked me to share some updates for family & friends that have been following their story. Keith found her nearly unresponsive this morning and called 911. Her blood pressure was dangerously low at 31/19 as well as her other vitals. Originally the doctors thought it was a blood clot but that was ruled out earlier this morning. Lara is back stable now but they are still running tests to see what happened. Lara is partially awake and on oxygen at the moment. She said it’s getting harder and harder for her every day. Please keep the family in your prayers.

2/22/23 update:
Let’s all congratulate LARA on finishing her full 2nd round of radiation today!! She goes to the doctor tomorrow to get more information on the next step in her treatment / immunotherapy / Keytruda. We all love you Lara!!

2/5/23 update:
Lara & Keith got some updates this past week. L5 spine cancer is gone (thank you radiation), however L2 is still there, starting Keytruda - immunotherapy drug soon & more radiation. Lara has been in a lot of pain but the doctors are doing their best to try and help her manage it. Wanted to update everyone and thank you all for the support.

1/4/23 update:

Posting with permission from Lara & Keith to update family & friends on her current medical status.

Lara has 2 more rounds of radiation left. She has been struggling with these treatments and has unfortunately developed radiation enteritis with a lot of horrible side effects. The doctors want to start chemotherapy in about a month. Thank you all for the prayers and for your generosity for this family. Sending love to everyone in 2023 and let’s all continue to fight with Lara!

12/19/22 Update:

Posting with permission from Lara & Keith. Lara’s hospitalization last week was due to kidney failure caused by metastatic cancer. She had emergency surgery with tubes put in both kidneys to drain waste on Tuesday followed by stents on Friday. She is now home resting and has resumed her radiation treatments. Thank you all for your kindness and compassion for this family. Please keep the prayers coming. Much love to all of you.

12/13/2022 Update:
Lara started radiation last week. On Saturday she took a turn for the worse and was hospitalized yesterday 12/12/2022. They are still doing testing but can see there are some issues with both of her kidneys. She is expected to be in the hospital for about a week if everything goes well. As of right now the doctors are not certain what caused this issue, but we will update here as soon as we know more.

12/01/2022 Update:
Lara went back to Trident Cancer Center today for results of the PET scan & additional CT scans. This is NOT the news we wanted to hear…the cancer has spread to her L5 in the spine, through the chest to the lymph nodes in her shoulder, & lymph nodes in her pelvis. This is now a Stage IVB metastatic cervical cancer diagnosis. Lara is going to be on immunotherapy, chemo, & radiation…please please share this story & contribute if you can. Keith is going to be in and out of work & Lara is going to fight harder than she has ever fought. I’m speaking for myself and everyone else that knows the Neddo family by saying we all love you guys and you have all of our support that you can imagine during this difficult time. Please God let’s give Lara a miracle.

10/28/2022 update:
Lara & Keith Neddo of Summerville, SC received some devastating news on Thursday Oct. 27th. Lara was in severe pain and transported from Summerville Medical to Trident Hospital in North Charleston and diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer. She has already had 2 emergency surgeries in the last 4 days. At this time we are not certain when Keith will be able to return to work (due to taking care of Lara and their teenage daughter) and Lara is still hospitalized at this time. This is a great family and they need some financial support from friends and family so please consider a donation if you are able. Sharing this post will also be of great help for them. Thank you all and please keep the Neddo family in your prayers and send good vibes as they navigate through this difficult time.
