Medical Support for Delphi

We’re starting a GoFundMe for our friend Leia to help cover her sweet 3-year-old pup Delphi’s medical needs as she faces blindness and a loss of her mobility.

Delphi is a fun-loving, playful pup. She loves to give kisses and smiles.

On Sunday, Delphi suddenly lost her sight and her balance. After emergency vet visits, Doctors discovered inflammation in Delphi’s brain causing her blindness, a loss of mobility, and a lot of pain. The doctors have diagnosed it as MUE, canine meningoencephalomyelitis of unknown origin. They are hopeful for the possibility that Delphi's sight and mobility can be restored through treatment.

The first 24 hours resulted in medical bills of nearly $3,000. Since then they have had to spend close to an additional $1,000 and the treatment over the next year will cost about $2,000.

Leia is a student finishing her medical doctorate and as her close friends and witnesses to her love for Delphi and her generosity to the world in general, we’re turning to a gofundme account to gather any small amount that friends and family could make toward getting Delphi on a healing path. She is only three years old and it breaks our hearts to see her suffering the way she is.
