After months of battling fever, weakness, swallowing issues, and finally pneumonia (not covid related), Dan Caruso was taken to the ICU at Our Lady of the Lake (January 2021). Doctors have run multiple tests and have failed to find the source of his symptoms.

In December 2020 due to failing a swallow test, Dan had a feeding tube placed. He, his wife, and his daughter were devastated that along with the weakness, this impacted his beautiful voice. Dan was a professional singer from New York City. He also can no longer enjoy food and drink because of the feeding tube.

Dan’s weakness has made him unable to undergo further invasive testing, and the hospital will be discharging him. Dan’s fervent wish is to go home and spend time with his only daughter Lori and wife Ninfa, at their home.

Lori, who is widowed, and his wife Ninfa, will take him home, which is Dan’s wish, however they are filled with grief and worry. They want to fulfill Dan’s wish to be home, but they don’t know how they will be able to do it financially. He needs constant monitoring, oxygen support and round the clock nursing care. He also needs medical supplies not covered by insurance.

They are asking for any monetary help you can offer to support them in granting their wish to be all together at home, and give Dan the care he needs in the time he has left.
