Hello everyone,

My name is Mayra, and I am starting this fundraiser for my son, Carlos. As a mother, this is not something I ever imagined having to do, but recent events have left our family with no other choice.

What began as a gastrointestinal obstruction quickly turned into internal bleeding. Despite numerous tests and procedures, we still do not have clear answers. Carlos has undergone CT scans, an endoscopy, colonoscopy, Meckel scan, capsule endoscopy, hospital stays, and blood transfusions. Even after all of this, doctors have not been able to determine what caused the bleeding or when it could happen again.

During this ordeal, there were three separate moments when his blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels. Each time, the situation became critical very quickly, and I watched medical teams rush in to stabilize him, knowing how fast things could have taken a turn for the worst. Those were terrifying moments for any mother, moments filled with fear, helplessness, and prayers that I never imagined I would have to say.

Watching your child go through something like this without answers is incredibly difficult. Because there is no diagnosis yet, we are now seeking additional testing and second opinions from other medical providers in hopes of finding answers and preventing this from happening again.

Without health insurance, the medical expenses have quickly become overwhelming. At this point, the bills have already exceeded $50,000, and that amount continues to grow as more care and evaluations are needed.

Carlos has always been someone who takes care of others. Through his business, The Car Clinic / Carlos Tuning, he has worked tirelessly to provide honest work and support for his customers. He is not someone who asks for help easily, but right now, he needs it.
