This is to help with medical expenses for those in a car accident on hwy 111 near Spencer TN on Monday September 15, 2035. It was my double first cousins Hannah (formerly Troyer) married to Jarius Beachy & their 7 children, and Bethany (formerly Troyer) married to Micah Beachy, and their 5 Boys.
These families had, 3 weeks prior to the accident, moved from Hestand KY to a small community in Alabama. They had traveled back to Hestand for the September 14 wedding of the sisters’ younger brother.
There was a Dan Troyer family reunion there in Hestand KY the Monday following the wedding, September 15. These two Beachy families left Hestand around 4:00 pm to the best of my memory. They apparently were traveling south on highway 111 near Spencer TN when a vehicle headed northbound hit a car and lost control, then coming across the median into the oncoming traffic, hitting first another vehicle and last my Cousins’ 15 passenger van head-on.
The drivers from both vehicles were I believe, killed on impact. Tragically, Bethany and her two-year-old Andrew also passed away. Several from both families were treated at the Cookeville TN including Jarius, (Hannah’s husband) their 9 year old Lois and 7 year old Leroy. There were also some of Micah & Bethany’s children, 8 or 9 year old Kenneth, 4 year old Andrew, and 7 months old baby Isaiah. Hannah, along with her 10 year old Josiah, her 5 year old Christena, 3 year old Joas, and her baby 12 month old Twila had been life flighted to Vanderbilt in Nashville.
Micah (Bethany’s husband) was lifted to Erlanger in downtown Chattanooga with severe bruising, where he was treated for head injuries & had a procedure on his spleen.
As of Wednesday Sept 17, everyone from Cookeville has been released.
Hannah’s Baby Twila has also been released from Vanderbilt. Hannah (sister to Bethany & mom of 7) currently recovers from a broken neck, sternum, ribs, nose, and more. Jarius, (husband to Hannah and brother to Micah) having been treated at Cookeville for a dislocated hip & having several broken ribs, now moves between his 3 children and wife in Vanderbilt, along either baby Twila when possible. Family are present and taking shifts to help when possible. 10YO Josiah, with a broken arm and leg, seems to be recovering well. 5YO Christena is hanging in there but having a lot of trouble with her one eye. Little Joas had some head injuries and a broken femur repaired via surgery, and is really struggling. He just wants his mom and his dad so much.
Micah will be released later today, Lord willing.
