Hi,

My name is Anyoh and I am fundraising for a truly remarkable friend, Abel Kirwa.

Abel was born in a small village in Kenya, just like any typical, healthy baby. However, at the tender age of 10, the course of his life was altered by an unfortunate diagnosis of Kyphosis, profoundly affecting his spine. Subsequently, life took a downward turn as Abel gradually became paralyzed from the waist down by the time he reached 18. In a brave attempt to rectify his spine's condition, Abel underwent surgery, yet complications arising from osteoporosis forced him into an above-knee amputation.

Amidst these daunting trials, Abel exhibited remarkable strength and an unyielding spirit. He recently achieved a significant milestone by graduating with a bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Abel's story is not just one of triumph but also serves as a reminder that life's adversities should never quell the pursuit of our dreams.

Living with a disability entails substantial costs, and the financial burden can be overwhelming. This has been Abel's reality for the past 10 years. Thus, I have initiated this campaign to rally behind Abel, providing him with the daily essentials he requires, based on his own expressed needs. The funds collected will be directed toward acquiring the following essentials:

* Electric wheelchair: Essential to facilitate Abel's mobility especially as he applies for jobs.

* Medications for managing bed sores.

* Adult diapers.

* Catheters.
