Medical Support for a Pregnant Stray Cat

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my gofundme page!

My name is Yullara, I am 22 and new to Sydney. There is a large cat epidemic here and I have rescued a stray baby girl off the road, and unfortunately she is pregnant.

I have had her in my care for a week now, she’s in isolation in my bathroom as I have my other rescue cat at home. I have reached out to all rescuers I could find and no one is able to help this poor girl. I have taken her to the vet, she has an eye infection, a broken tooth and needs an ultrasound to assess the kittens.

I am a low income worker, I am unable to work full time hours due to a pre-existing injury to my back and I am really struggling to fund this girls vet bills!

After she has her babies, they will all need to desexed in order to rehome them, this is a cost I cannot front myself. I have also been feeding a local cat colony so funds towards food and shelter for them is needed as well.

I understand we are in a cost of living crisis, although I cannot put this little girl back on the street knowing her and the babies won’t survive.

Standard vet appointments are $100-200
Ultrasounds are $300-500
Desexing $200-400
and other medical costs that I have not been given a quote for (ie blood tests, birth difficulties ect) I have never experienced this situation before with any animal pregnancy and no where has been transparent with costs.

I have been trying to liaise with local vets, although no one will assist a stray unless she is claimed and microchipped.

Miss Girl needs to be tested for FIV, and other underlying diseases before her kittens are born, and she’s only a few days from birth.

I am organising a safe home for these future kittens and hoping to rehome or adopt mumma as well. Mumma cat was with a local colony, most very young. I have been trying to create trust with the others and feed them also. There are many independent rescuers around my area and all unused fund for the medical is going to these rescuers and for the local cat colony’s.

Sydney’s stray cat issue is growing at an exponential rate. These cats are at risk of human abuse, weather conditions, being killed by cars, violence with other animals and starvation. Not to mention the thousands of native wildlife and ecosystems being destroyed from the large amount of strays.

With a Trap, Neuter and Release approach we can help limit numbers of strays, which decreases demands of shelters, and provide a loving and safe environment for all these animals.

Whether it be $5 or 50c anything and everything will be used towards the safety of these animals and their future.

I am so grateful for those who can donate, if you’re unable to please just share this post so I can get the assistance I need!

In unity,
