Our long-time colleague and friend, Eduardo is in need of help with his medical expenses. Eduardo has been one of the longest serving partners with Plant With Purpose. I (Scott) first met him in 1994 when he was a young forestry professor in Oaxaca and was thrilled when he became a part of Mision Integral in the early 2000s.

Over the years he has become a friend to many of us and has been responsible for so much of the reforestation work that has taken place in Mexico. On my last visit to the mountains, every farmer I spoke with had something to say in gratitude for the way Eduardo has helped them to restore the land and bring back the forest.

Unfortunately, Eduardo has been plagued with diabetes, which has led to kidney failure. He can no longer work and recently had to sell his car to set up his home for dialysis. Now, with the need to for dialysis 4 times a day, he is struggling to just to purchase the supplies he needs, including insulin, syringes, lancets, tape and cleaning supplies.

It is our hope that we can help Eduardo to offset these expenses for at least the next two years.
