Medical Supplies for COVID Relief in Kerala, India
Donation protected
I am Manzoor Mohis, a freshman at Eisenhower High School, New Berlin, Wisconsin.
I was a middle school student when I watched the world reel under the ravages of a pandemic last year. As the year rolled on, I saw the socio-economic impact of the pandemic and its toll on the healthcare system. I remember watching the images on TV and feeling helpless. The year rolled by and I realized how much help was needed to support an already stretched healthcare system. This is my personal effort to play my part to help. I am hoping to raise $2,500. All proceeds will go towards buying medical supplies in rural hospitals in Kerala, the state where my family hails from.
As India goes through its devastating second wave of COVID, patients are being left outside hospitals for days waiting for oxygen, hospital beds, treatment, and more. These hospitals, short on supplies, cannot treat these patients without help. Through this fund, we can do our part in supporting India as they go through this relentless and lethal second wave.
Funds will be utilized to procure and distribute medical supplies to undersupplied hospitals in Kerala. To this end, I will be working with a list of approved medical distributors and a group of physicians in Kerala. As smaller hospitals do not receive enough government funding, there is a tremendous shortage of supplies to service patients with this lethal disease. My goal is to ensure that these hospitals get timely delivery of PPE, pulse oximeters, etc. with the money raised through this fund.
