Medical Service Learning Trip

Hi everyone my name is Miraf Eshetie and I am a senior at University of Houston. I have been accepted to a medical service learning trip to Santa Ana, Honduras in May and am in need of raising money for my trip. This program selects 10 people from the University of Houston to go to Honduras and work with doctors, medical school students and volunteers to help the people in Honduras receive the healthcare they need. This program helps students interested in the medicine field have a better understanding of global medicine by doing actual work in the clinic where we will be doing hands work with the medical staff and practitioners there. The money will be used for my ticket, room and board. This program is a great opportunity and something that will not come again for me as a graduating senior in December. Being as it is in another country, it will help be with my chances in medical school by furthering my resume. It would mean so much to me that I get to be a part of a wonderful experience with great educators from Baylor College of Medicine and learning a different culture at the same time. By donating, I will be reaching my goal to medical school one step further and become the pediatrician I have always wanted to be, thank you very much.
