Lynn has loved Majorca, spending her 40th and 50th and this year an early 60th.
A family holiday in May with her Cliff, Rose, Jaxson, Jay, Ian and Jetta designed to be for Jaxson experiencing his first family holiday with both his beloved grandparents turned to disaster when Lynn fainted at the hotel, hitting the back of her head on the marble floor.
Care was amazing and a bleed on the brain and skull fracture was quickly identified.
Within 48 hours Lynn had two major surgeries, the first being to stop the brain bleed and the second to perform a cranioectomy to relieve the pressure in the skull.
From the day of the accident Lynn was placed into a medical-induced coma.
Lynn came out of this coma at the start of June and upon seeing her be in a different country surrounded by people she couldn’t understand and waking in a strange place was massively distressing and upsetting for her. Within 48hrs with help from loans and sales of our belongings and the amazing generosity from donations from family, friends and well-wishers has made it possible to return Lynn back to her country and back to Colchester where she has spent her life’s being cared for by the NHS whom she has worked her entire career for. The challenge hasn’t stopped….
Lynn remains in intensive care and prognosis remains uncertain but undoubtedly home adaptions and specialist care and therapy are needed.
This gofundme page is where donations are gratefully received to ensure that Lynn is provided best care, adaptions and rehabilitation she deserves.
Being back in the UK has sped up her recovery and kept her motivated and comforted by familiar faces and visits.
Lynn was not covered for medical repatriation, the costs to return her back to us has been £30k, it was unthinkable to have her left in Majorca and most certainly compromising her recovery whilst being out there, we wouldn’t have been able to sustain staying out there with her, particularly when we want to ensure we have the funds to provide her care and adaptions needed at home.
