Help give a feeding tube (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tubes) to a patient in need!
- Targeted fundraiser for 30 PEG tubes for Gastroenterology Units in Hospitals in Sri Lanka.
- The local hospitals in Sri Lanka are running out of basic supplies.
- My brother-in-law, Dr. Nandana Dinamithra is a Gastroenterologist in Pollonaruwa and they have a dire need of feeding tubes (PEG) for patients.
- The PEG tubes cost about Rs. 45,000 ($120) each.
- Supplied by existing supplier – GlobalMed in Thimbirigasyaya.
Trust Based Fundraising
- Given the urgent need, direct fundraising to pay the supplier - GlobalMed in Thimbirigasyaya.
- Coordinated by Sahan Dissanayake in Portland Oregon (http://sahan.org) and Dr. Nandana Dinamithra, Gastroenterology Consultant in Sri Lanka.
- There is no fundraising organizational involvement (so also no 503c etc.)
- Any excess funds will be provided to medical suppliers in Sri Lanka for other urgent medical needs.
- Please provide small donations - we know many of you are engaged in other efforts to support Sri Lanka and we may end up doing this again if the medical supply issues get worse.
