Medical relief fund for Pettis family
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser for the Pettis family. Our friend Wyatt Pettis has recently been challenged by a rare disorder called Guillen Barre syndrome. Guillen Barre is a disorder where the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. Symptoms tend to start mild with tingling and weakness in the muscles, then worsening to paralysis to different portions of his body.
Within the last year Wyatt not only had a baby daughter but has become very passionate on the art of jujitsu. If you know Wyatt personally, like all Smokejumpers and Wildland firefighters, he holds physical fitness and motivation at a high standard. Wyatt currently works for the Forest service as a surveyor.

Wyatt was practicing at his local gym and he noticed that he wasn’t feeling 100 percent while sparring with another individual from his gym. By the time Wyatt was walking into the hospital he had nearly lost all feeling in his legs and arms, but still managed to walk into the hospital on his own will power. Since first sign of symptoms Wyatt has made slight recovering but sadly fallen back into worsening condition where he has been losing sensation in his face and having a hard time eating, he was checked back into ICU at saint Luke’s Hospital in Boise Idaho.
Currently Wyatt’s spirit is high with nothing but optimism and determination to get well. He has the love and support from his Wife Kate and daughter Harriet to help during his challenging time.
Please join us in supporting our friend with good vibes, strength, and positivity while he faces his challenges. Please donate to help ease the weight of medical fees and time away from work so that Wyatt and his family can put forth all their efforts into his recovery. Specifically, as a Federal employee leave donation are a possibility by visiting your timekeeper or referencing the links to submit a federal leave donation application.
