Hi everyone, my name is Henry “Kojoh” Donkor & I'm a Christian music artist and historic tour guide from Cape Coast, Ghana. I am currently raising funds to help support my mother, Patience Donkor, who as of June 2023 is very sick and in need of extensive, ongoing medical care.
My mother is paralyzed & also suffers from hearing loss, which she has been enduring for about 10 years now. Shortly after this diagnosis, she began suffering from an umbilical hernia which has become complicated over time by severe abdominal and limb swelling. This was diagnosed as a condition called ascites; a complication associated with congestive heart failure.
Summary of Diagnoses:
- Paralysis
- Hearing Loss
- Umbilical Hernia (surgery needed)
- Congestive Heart Failure (stage three)
- Ascites/Oedema swelling of the abdomen & limbs (complication of heart failure)
- [new diagnosis] Bilateral lung fibrosis of the right lung- transplant likely needed
I want to raise money for better treatment and an adequate ongoing care facility that can give her what she needs in these difficult moments. The reality is, that to keep her here with us as long we possibly can, she will need regular long-standing care, home health visits, medications & ongoing procedures. *The most urgently needed one, being her hernia surgery which we are currently awaiting to schedule pending the outcome of this fundraising effort.
*Current condition update:
(As of 20 July 2023) Patience has recently been diagnosed with bilateral lung fibrosis, affecting her right lung; making both the costs and treatment of her edema more complicated as it requires continuous oxygen administration, IVs for stabilization, and is potentially only amenable by a lung transplant procedure which we have now recently been made aware.
However, thanks to your donations so far, we have been able to acquire the necessary IV treatments, drainage procedures and we obtained two oxygen tanks for her home use after discharge.
