Hi, my name is Erica, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my brother Daniel Perales.

This past week, our lives turned upside down when he was rushed to the ER. At first, doctors thought it was an infection, but an MRI revealed that he had suffered a stroke—and even more shocking, that he had a previous stroke we didn’t know about.

The stroke has left him struggling with basic things like swallowing, and he now faces the road of recovery with speech therapy, medications, and close medical follow-up.

To make things even harder, my brother does not have health insurance. His doctors have explained that his blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol are dangerously out of control, and he will need multiple prescriptions for life-saving medications, including insulin, once he leaves the hospital. Without financial help, he will not be able to afford the care he needs to survive and recover.

Medications (insulin, blood pressure, cholesterol, stroke prevention)

Medical follow-up and therapy appointments

Basic living costs while he recovers
