Oxygen Rescue #run4o2 - Indonesia Covid19 Crisis
Hello! I’m Santi, Indonesian born, married to an Australian and been living in Melbourne for over 20 years. While Covid19 pandemic has affected our life significantly in Australia, back in Indonesia the situation is getting very dire.
Indonesia has reported over 2.4 millions infections and over 64,000 fatalities from Covid19 - likely a huge underestimate due to inadequate testing.
Following a deadly second wave since June this year, the country daily need for oxygen has reached close to 2000 tons a day. Hospitals are being overrun with Covid19 patients and thousands of people rush to buy oxygen for treatment at home due to shortage of hospital beds.
The availability of oxygen tank at home to assist breathing is crucial for Covid19 patients to increase their chances of recovery.
We are raising funds to purchase and deliver medical oxygen to these homes - the funds will support “Oksigen untuk Warga” (Oxygen For Citizens), a crowdsourcing movement which relies on 100% donation. They are part of GITA - Gerakan Indonesia Kita (Our Indonesian Movement), a credible non profit organisation established in 2017, and this fundraising activity for oxygen relief is audited by PwC Indonesia.
According to a recent health survey, almost half of Jakarta's population of 10.6 million may have contracted Covid19, so we are racing against time to save more lives.
Below are what your donation will do:
- AU $25 - transport cost for 10 homes
- AU $35 - oxygen refill per 10m3
- AU $55 - regulator set with nasal
- AU $65 - 1m3 of oxygen tank
- AU $185 - 6m3 of oxygen tank
Please share this GoFundMe link and/or follow me on Instagram at run.santi.run, where I will also campaigning to bring more awareness to Indonesia's Covid19 crisis and will be updating stories about the campaign.
Thank you so much for your help. Your donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Sincerely, Santi
